We were in Arran yesterday for the day and stayed in Brodick but next time we're over, we would like to head further round the island. Is this still the case? Also, how often are buses in Arran, say for eg to Blackwaterfoot? Thank you. I'll print that off for next time we go. Certainly cheaper than taking the car.

Public transport on Arran generally ties in with the ferry times from and to Brodick. Caledonian MacBrayne operate both the Brodick-Ardrossan service and the Lochranza-Claonaig ferry which in the winter operates on a reduced timetable and becomes the Lochranza-Tarbert run. Great fun for all the family to enjoy! Be warned though, the buses leave shortly after the boat docks and the stances are situated to the right of the terminal building.
